I've added a profile of myself to Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/MarkTDKKnight or, hehe, http://www.flitkillsmoths.co.uk

This is probably the page I'll keep up to date the most, until some kind soul offers to make me a proper website.

Mark's Stuff / Captive 2: Liberation Theme 2011 - available on Bandcamp
« on: February 13, 2012, 03:41:11 AM »
Now available for the very tiny price of £0.69 on Bandcamp - http://marktdkknight.bandcamp.com/track/captive-2-liberation-theme-2011

This is the track I remade for the Immortal 4 CD, but they kinda ruined the track a bit with their mastering, so this is the original render that I supplied to them.

Mark's Stuff / Dungeon Keeper 2 Live?
« on: October 02, 2011, 03:24:02 AM »
Would anyone be interested in a live performance of DK2? Just thinking of the possibility of getting Mark Knight / TDK on the road some time in the future.

DK2, Populous3, Duke Nukem Total Meltdown and Chip Music... maybe.....

Mark's Stuff / My first Chip Tune for 18 years
« on: September 06, 2011, 04:42:59 AM »
Many of you know that I made my 'name' writing chip tunes on the Commodore Amiga, which was used in various Intro's and Cracktro's over the years, but I retired in 1993 as I was writing music full time for my job.

Since I've moved in to sound design, I write so much music now so I'm proud to announce that I've released a new chip tune.

Time for bed ;)

I've added a profile of myself to Reverbnation - http://www.reverbnation.com/marktdkknight

It's relatively new, in that I've never pimped it, but I need to build an online profile again now, it's been too long.

There's a 'mailing list' signup on the front of my website, stick your email address into that and that's more or less it unless you want to create your own profile on RN. It's a pretty cool site, with lots of new music to discover.

Mark's Stuff / CyberSpeed Unleashed - DONE (finally)
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:09:31 AM »
It's finished..... After 10 years... yes, I actually started playing around with the first track, Cluffy Flouds, ten years ago.

All done, all mastered... and I'm not changing it now. That's been the problem. With no deadline, no reason to complete, I've simply not done it... but enough is enough, and CyberSpeed Unleashed (as I've decided to call it) has now been submitted to iTunes and other online retailers.

Not sure how long it will take to actually be available, but shouldn't be long (I hope),

Mark's Stuff / FortressCraft Credits music
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:06:53 AM »
So, my mate @ ProjectorGames has used a track of mine for the credits of FortressCraft, and the game is doing really rather well on Xbox Live.

I've submitted the track to iTunes, so will let you know when it's up.

Mark's Stuff / Cyberspeed Re-Imagined
« on: August 01, 2009, 04:30:01 AM »
OK, so I'm a bit late with this one, I did say 2008, but babies and stuff kinda killed that idea.

Anyway, it's almost ready now... I've just got to get the mastering right. And I keep getting it wrong... Once it's sorted, I'll let you know.

Prolly stick another taster on soon,

For now - here's the current one - http://www.gamesounds.co.uk/audio/cyberspeed/cyberspeed_2008_taster.mp3

Mark's Stuff / Duke Nukem Total Meltdown. New album???
« on: July 18, 2009, 09:10:06 PM »
Hi peeps,

I've been pondering whether I should do a complete re-recording/re-mix of the Total Meltdown music, just as I have (almost) done with Cyberspeed.

The biggest setback with doing this is, unlike Cyberspeed, I don't have the sequencer data since the motherboard of the Mac clone I used to write the music went pop, and I had backed up onto Zip disk, which then got the dreaded "click of death".

Anyway, yesterday I decided to have a go at remaking Echo and the Harewoman since it's a pretty simple track really.

Here are the results.

I definately thing it's worth choosing some other tracks, and maybe creating an album of perhaps 10 remade tracks, using today's technology (and what I've learnt in the past 12 years),

Thoughts?

Ask a Question / Introduce yourself in this thread
« on: November 01, 2008, 02:45:45 AM »
I'll get the ball rolling - who knows if anyone will join this or not.. Anyway,

I'm Mark, the guy who'se set this up mainly as a repository to download game music I've written during the past 16 years that I've been working in the industry.

I'm married, have a baby son and am currently working for Codemasters in UK, looking after the sound for their racing/driving games.

I've not written any published original game music since Dungeon Keeper 2 in 1999 although I've done a bit of mobile music since then. I'm still writing music, mainly for fun and am currently working on a remix album of my 1995 Cyberspeed music (it never sounded how I wanted it to).

I started the forum as I've seen a lot of positive chatter on the internet about the music I've written for games like Duke Nukem Total Meltdown, Populous the Beginning and Cyberspeed so thought there may be an opportunity to talk about all of this stuff more.

Maybe, maybe not.. Time will tell.

Cheers for now,

m
