The game industry as a whole
« on: February 12, 2009, 02:10:38 PM »
Hows it going Mark:)

I was wondering If I could ask you about working in the game industry, not only as a composer and sound designer but being a member of a group responsible for producing a marketable title. I myself am interested in getting into the industry doing concept art, design and 3d modelling and animation. It would be good to hear what it's like from the inside than to try and speculate whats it's like from the outside.

On another note, what does it take these days to really make a sucessful career out of games.

Well, to make a successful career in games, you've of course got to be good at your job. You need to be able to re-itterate work quickly, and positively and be resigned to the fact that sometimes you will have to change your work in a way that you may not be happy with. This happens a lot.

As for working in the industry, well for me, I'm kind of getting paid to do my hobby. Now that can't be bad can it?
