One Small Question...
(1/1)
MuSlicAL:
Hey Mark, Always liked yer music, alright so here's the question
What/Which sample libraries did you use when you created the Populus 3 and Dungeon Keeper 2 music?
especially that pop3 flute/choir, dk2 choir gothic stuff...
or did you create those samples ? , i certainly would like to use those samples in my music.
Well, I'm shy, so I'll stop rite here. Cya :P
Cheers
Mark Knight [TDK]:
Hey,
Mmmm, we're going back a few years now!! ;)
DK is easy. Most of the choir sounds were used/created by Russell Shaw for the 1st Dungeon Keeper soundtrack, so I simply took those and played around with them a bit in the Kurzweil K2500 sampler. Some of the other more percussive sounds were also from DK1 but again I mucked around with them to give them a new edge. I do have the libraries somewhere... in a box... but I'm afraid memory doesn't serve me very well.
As for Pop 3, one of the main flute sounds was from the Korg Z1 which had a wonderfully expressive physically modeled flute. The other wind and percussion sounds were from some Ethnic sample CDs called "Ethno World", "Heart of Africa" and "Voices of Native America"
Cheers for now,
m
MuSlicAL:
thanks for answering!
knowing the names of those libraries would be nice. :P
that DK choir in a sampled format would be nice... some alternative might exist, very similar choir, another sample cd... don't know what it would be tho.
I do all music on a single PC using either old Cubase or [mostly] Sonar 8.5, so anything but soft samplers or soft synths or sample cds is a no-buy for me. :/
And it's a hobby. sample cds are not too expensive luckily enough.
But I'll be sure to add "Ethno World" and "Voices of Native America" to my library :P
It seems that I already have "Heart of Africa", spectrasonics huh ?
I have a ton of sounds that I haven't even listened to yet.... Thanks to Omnisphere stompin a hole at 42GB in diameter... :)
and burning a hole in the music wallet. :(
Cheers

I do have the choir in a Kurzweil K2500 soundbank "somewhere" so the chances of finding it are very slim.
Yep, I'm the same now. Everything is done on a single PC with Cubase. I don't have the time, or money, for a multiple PC setup so I get by. I will upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit soon to use that extra memory advantage. I've yet to buy Omnisphere, too big for my wallet too!
