Possable fan remix of your Duke Nukem bar music track?
« on: July 18, 2009, 06:24:17 PM »
Hi Mark, good to meet you. I feels quite odd meeting the composer of the soundtrack to Duke Nukem. I used to always play this game as a kid and the music really got me into the game more. I found the track of the bar music and became obsessed with it again, and needed to find out who made this music.

I was wondering if it would be ok with you if i made a remix of your track for fun and put the remix up on youtube with pictures of you, me, and varous duke nukem logo's.

How would you feel about this idea? Do you have you permission maybe?

take care Mark, peace

Hi, sorry it took me a bit of time to authorise you. I've been getting a lot of spammers joining recently :(

Anyway, the version I did of the Bar music for Total Meltdown, was an arrangement of the track from the PC version, which Bobby Prince wrote... so it's probably a better idea for you to contact him? As far as I'm concerned, I'm cool with this - but I didn't write the original track I'm afraid,

Let me know how you get on,

m

btw - don't forget to check out the completely new Echo and the Harewoman recording :)

Thanks for your blessing Mark, i'l go and ask Bobby Prince to see if he is ok about it. I gave your remake of your track a listen and it sounds great, i like it!

If im all good to do a remix of your version of the bar music in duke nukem, do you think you might remember the midi note patterns for some of the melody's? I've been trying to figure them out note by note but it'l really difficult for me  ???

peace

Just thought, it could be Lee Jackson, not Bobby Prince...
